Megan and John – Rancho Las Lomas, St. Catherine of Sienna Church, San Juan Capistrano Wedding Photography
Megan and John are this fabulous couple from South Orange County and we were so excited to shoot this wedding. We started at the St. Regis in Newport Beach with Megan’s getting ready photos, then we went to the church – St. Catherine of Sienna in Laguna Beach for the ceremony, and then off to Rancho Las Lomas in San Juan Capistrano. The church had the most photography restrictions I have ever experienced (we literally had to be all the way in the back). I mean, it’s always good to realize that you are photographing a religious event and that you can’t be distracting. The only bummer is when people jump in front of you white the bride and groom are coming back down the aisle! Regardless, we got everything we needed to and Megan and John are such a dashing couple. John is Italian and his family was VERY fun. Once the dancing started….everyone went crazy. I had never photographed at Rancho Las Lomas before, though I had been seeing photos for years and I just loved shooting there. What a fabulous venue! Megan and John also had the coolest wedding vendors. The videographer, Jessica from Ashley Video was awesome and the coordinator, Lindsay from LVL Events was super cool. I hope I get to work with her again! Also, poor Megan was so worried about the forecast. She got a few ominous clouds, but otherwise, totally sunny! I love the close up of her checking the forecast on her Blackberry.
Hayley’s Maternity Shoot – Maternity Shoot in Studio City, CA
Hayley is the sister in law of Marcy, one of my oldest and dearest clients and I was so thrilled when she called last minute for a maternity shoot! I couldn’t believe how perfectly round and beautiful her belly was (and kept telling her so) and how much energy she had being that she was only two weeks away from her due date! Thank you Hayley and Jon for trudging through all the moist terrain in the hills of Studio City to get to this beautiful location! I can’t wait to meet the baby!
Jamie and Jason’s Engagement Shoot – Downtown Los Angeles Engagement Shoot
Jamie and Jason and good friends with Jules and Danny whose wedding I shot last year. They are getting married in 2011 but wanted to get the ES shoot done early as they have a big engagement party in March. Ugh, we had so much fun on this shoot! Again, we shot downtown and their friend let us use their loft and their roof. The balloon idea was Jamie’s and I loved it! Jamie and Jason’s wedding will take place up in Portland…the ceremony will take place at Jamie’s mom’s temple – where she is the cantor. How cool!
Susan and Freddie’s Wedding – Calamigos Ranch, Malibu, CA
Susan and Freddie had come to me as a recommendation from one of Freddie’s brother’s patients. I have no idea who….but regardless…I am so thrilled that they got to me. Susan and Freddie were very fun to work with at the wedding. Susan was anextremely relaxed bride and it kept freaking me out as I really thought she looked like a young Liz Taylor.
Cami and Dave in Downtown Los Angeles
Cami is actually an old friend of my husband Jimmy and she is such a great interesting and lovely person. She is a singer/songwriter gone real estate agent gone yoga teacher….or something like that. Jimmy and I were so thrilled to hear recently that she had a new boyfriend when she called to buy them a photo shoot for X-mas. Too cute! It was really great to meet Dave and they are just the most adorable couple ever. I could not be happier for them. We did the photo shoot in the Jewelry District and then on the roof of their friend’s loft. Such great locations. Cami and Dave wanted sort of a “paparazzi style” photo shoot (ala Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee). Though I was thinking I would make all the images black and white - I did like some in color too. Jimmy needed to know all the gossip of “how they met”, etc…(My husband can be such a chick)….I hope I didn’t ask too many questions but I knew I had to come home with answers!
