Stephanie and Matt’s Engagement Shoot – The Getty Center Engagement Shoot
Stephanie was a bridesmaid at Kristin and Brice’s wedding and I am so excited to photograph their wedding in June at the Skirball Center. Stephanie and Matt were a little late for the shoot and I was mad because I ate an entire brownie while I was waiting for them (they were only 10 minutes late an I am uber pregnant and had the most intense chocolate craving!). Sorry to get sidetracked. It had been a while since I had been to the Getty Center and I was just floored by how amazing it is there. I always figure that an engagement shoot is going to last an hour or two, but I had such an awesome time photographing at the Getty and Stephanie and Matt are SO relaxed and sweet that I was over an hour late to meet my husband and I had no idea how late it had gotten. I could have blogged about 100 photos from this shoot. They just cheer me up. Especially photo #3 it just makes me happy whenever I look at it!

Deborah and Tony’s Engagement Shoot – Downtown Los Angeles Engagement Shoot
I had met Deborah when we booked her wedding at the fabulous Villa Del Sol in Sierra Madre but I didn’t get to meet Tony who lives half in LA and half in Denver. It was really fun to meet Tony on this Engagement Shoot adventure! The theme for Deborah’s wedding is travel, so she wanted to do a vintage travel theme with props and all. She had shown me some photos she loved from my friends at Next Exit Photography, which is always like “Oh God, how can I emulate this” as they are so awesome. I just did my own spin on their vibe….a bit different but I was excited about it nonetheless. In addition to shooting at Union Station, Deborah wanted to shoot at these train tracks, next to Union Station. We couldn’t figure out how to get in there and Deborah, being the wild gal she is, actually wanted to break in. Now, I am always up for this sort of thing, but at 8 months pregnant I was a little weary of climbing a fence! I mean, part of me wanted to and part of me was like “This probably isn’t a great idea”. It was pretty hilarious. I think my favorite shots are on the ladders up there…..not sure if they are brilliant photos or the memory of them is what makes me love them so much! Tony was a little more reserved in terms of the break in….pretty funny to see the dynamic between them. In this sense….opposites attract! Then we went and did a few photos in this barren area near Union Station. So much fun.

Cami and Josh – Beverly Hills Hotel Wedding, Beverly Hills Hotel Wedding Photography
I am so sorry if this blog post goes on forever. I loved so many photos from this wedding I just couldn’t decide what to blog! Cami and Josh got married at the Beverly Hills Hotel and this was some event! 350 guests, a huge extended family (definitely the most family photos I’ve ever taken at a wedding) and a bride and groom that are so adorable and in love it made the whole day joyous. I actually got teary eyed just editing the photos. Cami was born and raised in Beverly Hills and the Beverly Hills Hotel has lots of great childhood memories for her so it made shooting there all the more special. From reading so many Eloise books when I was a kid, I have similar thing with The Plaza Hotel in NY (See the movie Bride Wars). They are pretty strict at this hotel in regards to not shooting in the lobby, but I did sneak some great ones in the bathroom! We were at this wedding for 12 hours and honestly, there was not even a slight down moment. I want to thank the fabulous Jennifer Rau and my assistant Natalie Edelman (who was actually referred to me by this couple) for also doing a fantastic job. It’s funny, Cami didn’t want to do any photos near the ceremony site as she wanted it to be a surprise for all her friends and family. When I finally saw the ceremony site, I completely understood why. It was quite breathtaking as was the reception room itself. Their ceremony was “in the round” which is always interesting to photograph. The last time I photographed a ceremony in the round was at their friend Kristin and Brice’s wedding back in 2008! Oh, and a VERY fun crowd! I wish I had room to blog more. The wedding was coordinated by Maryam Forutan at Delicate Details. She and her team obviously did a fantastic job. Look how gorgeous everything is!

This is Natalie's brother!!! He made a beautiful speech during the ceremony.

Welcome Baby Nora!
It’s always such a blast to see my families expand and grow! I photographed Sara and Carl’s wedding back in 2006, then Baby Ryan in 2008 and now, welcome Nora! Sara and Carl are a most interesting couple. They had a full on military wedding as Carl is in the Navy. Lucky for him, as he was about to be deployed, right after Ryan’s birth….they decided to keep him on base and he got all this fabulous time to be with the kids. They live out in Camarillo now, and unfortunately, Carl might be leaving soon….so I am thrilled I got to see the whole family. Nora is a doll and her brother Ryan, well…..what can you say….what a personality! He is too much! We had a great time playing in his dad’s old vintage red car (Can you imagine I can’t remember the make or model). I’m suck a chick!

My little purple girl – Tessie in the desert
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted some photos of Tess, so here are some new ones that we took in Death Valley on our way back from WPPI. Tessie loves anything purple and that’s putting it mildly – Tessie is obsessed with all things purple….so here are some photos of my little purple princess! This lollypop thing totally didn’t work. It got all over her face in two seconds!

And the perfect visualization of why it’s so difficult to take photos of your own children!!!
