Jamie and Jason’s Engagement Shoot – Downtown Los Angeles Engagement Shoot

Jamie and Jason and good friends with Jules and Danny whose wedding I shot last year.  They are getting married in 2011 but wanted to get the ES shoot done early as they have a big engagement party in March.  Ugh, we had so much fun on this shoot!  Again, we shot downtown and their friend let us use their loft and their roof.  The balloon idea was Jamie’s and I loved it!  Jamie and Jason’s wedding will take place up in Portland…the ceremony will take place at Jamie’s mom’s temple – where she is the cantor.  How cool!

Susan and Freddie’s Wedding – Calamigos Ranch, Malibu, CA

Susan and Freddie had come to me as a recommendation from one of Freddie’s brother’s patients.  I have no idea who….but regardless…I am so thrilled that they got to me.  Susan and Freddie were very fun to work with at the wedding.  Susan was anextremely relaxed bride and it kept freaking me out as I really thought she looked like a young Liz Taylor.

Cami and Dave in Downtown Los Angeles

Cami is actually an old friend of my husband Jimmy and she is such a great interesting and lovely person.  She is a singer/songwriter gone real estate agent gone yoga teacher….or something like that.  Jimmy and I were so thrilled to hear recently that she had a new boyfriend when she called to buy them a photo shoot for X-mas.  Too cute!  It was really great to meet Dave and they are just the most adorable couple ever.  I could not be happier for them.  We did the photo shoot in the Jewelry District and then on the roof of their friend’s loft.  Such great locations.  Cami and Dave wanted sort of a “paparazzi style” photo shoot (ala Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee).  Though I was thinking I would make all the images black and white -  I did like some in color too.  Jimmy needed to know all the gossip of “how they met”, etc…(My husband can be such a chick)….I hope I didn’t ask too many questions but I knew I had to come home with answers!

Kristy and Brian’s Wedding – 1.16.10

I have known Brian for all the many years now as I have been photographing portraits for Loyola Law School’s Alumnae Magazine “The Lawyer”.  One of the many gigs I never have time to blog, but you can always go to www.lls.edu and see the flash aninmation of some of my portraits.  Anyway, Brian has been engaged to Kristy FOREVER  and it was just one of those things where they were both too busy to deal with having a wedding, although it was always in the back of their minds.  I’m not sure of Kristy’s schedule but Brian works full time at Loyola and is also in Law School.  So you can imagine….planning a wedding gets put off, and put off, and put off.  Well….then you get pregnant and you are realize…”oh, we should really get married”.  In this day and age, there is really no stigma to it.  As  a matter of fact, I probably do a shotgun wedding at least once a year, either intended or unintended.  It was actually very fun to work around the belly bump.  Brian’s beautiful bride Kristy was so much fun and I was so happy to get to know her.  This was such a fun, relaxed, intimate, lunchtime wedding.  I just love those.  Their ceremony and reception was at Cafe del Mar in the Marina but we did most of the photos at The Custom Hotel.…which I LOOOVED shooting at.  So hip and modern!

Megan and John’s Engagement Shoot – The Mission and San Juan Capistrano

I am so excited to be photographing Megan and John’s wedding at Rancho Las Lomas in a couple of weeks!  We got rained out several times for their engagement shoot but everything finally worked out and we were able to do the shoot in the incredible scenic Mission at San Jan Capistrano.  Yes, a major schlep for me but worth it!  It’s funny, it’s been a while since I’ve had to photograph a couple of such huge height difference.  For some reason, most of my couple’s recently have been relatively the same size.  The difference creates it’s own set of challenges and advantages as well.  These two are both so photogenic, though…so my job was easy!   There were so many photos I just loved from this shoot.  I couldn’t decide what to blog but here ya go!
