Holiday Portraits – Additional Date in San Bernadino added 12/5….one more slot in Malibu left!

LittleCamden1

Well, the holiday portrait days have been a huge success! I know, I’ll have to charge more next year! (And you’ll all be reaping the rewards from an economy on the upswing ;-) . I did have 3 families in San Bernadino who want to join so we’ll probably meet at a park near Chino Hills. Please give a shout out as I will have some morning/early afternoon slots available.

San Bernadino -Saturday, December 5th

And I have 1 slot left for Sunday, December 6th in Malibu as my most fabulous old music publisher Clyde, has to work on some sitcom that day. So does anyone want to jump in for 2:00pm?

Rosalind and Alex – Malibu, CA Wedding Photography – Calamigos Ranch

Rosalind and Alex booked me from up in San Francisco and I hadn’t had a chance to meet them first. I was really excited when I finally met Rosalind as I just found her so sweet. Both Rosalind and Alex are super cool mellow people and I just dig them…plain and simple. Their wedding was so much fun to photograph as they are both so into photos and we just ran all over Calamigos and had a blast. I am really excited that Calamigos opened the M Cafe. What a great place to shoot and what a great place to go hang out in the hood! It was very refreshing to be able to shoot in such a rustic environment. The light was really going during the ceremony but we had JUST enough to shoot with natural light. I have to say….the best man’s speech was one of the most moving things I’ve ever heard. Everyone should aspire to have such wonderful things said about them. Really. Thank you so much to Veronica Puleo for shooting with me and always making me laugh on the job!

Camilla and Josh’s Engagement Shoot – Hollywood, CA Engagement Session

Camilla and Josh were referred to me by Kristin and Brice who got married in 2008. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be photographing their wedding in March at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Cami and Josh are living in NY and attending NYU Law School. Unfortunately, their engagement shoot in NY didn’t work out (they got sick when I was there) but it turned out perfectly to do it out in Los Angeles. They wanted to get a real “Old Hollywood” vibe so I suggested the Formosa Cafe, then the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and then an overlook. I used to ALWAYS suggest Hollywood Forever Cemetery to my clients as I just think it’s the most awesome place to shoot (I mean, does this look like a cemetery guys? It looks like Ancient Greece!) but most couple’s get too freaked out so I stopped recommending it. Thank you Cami and Josh for being adventurous! This was the funnest shoot! Both Cami and Josh and Kate and Aaron (Engagement shoot below) asked me the same question “Everyone looks so cool on your blog….I mean, we are attorney’s will we ever look that cool?”. Don’t you get it guys….I MAKE YOU LOOK COOL! (Ha, ha, ha…..). Honestly, I didn’t have to do much with either of you. I just make you feel comfortable so you are yourselves :-)

Kate and Aaron’s Engagement Shoot

Kate and Aaron were referred to me by Kat and Noel who’s wedding I photographed back in 2008. I am so excited for their wedding in October 2010! Aaron is Korean, and obviously, Kate is not and so they are not sure there will be too many Korean formalities. They suggested the idea for photographing in Korea town and I was totally up for it. I scouted locations and figured we would do a mix of urban stuff and Korean town as it’s a little difficult to get too much “Koreatown” other than storefronts. I also thought it would be a cool idea to get them eating noodles (as that’s pretty much what you do when you go visit)….thank you, Kate and Aaron for the amazing kimchi vegetable noodle pot! It was delicious. And I got some great shots too!

Heather and Jon – Fess Parker Hotel Wedding, Santa Barbara Wedding Photography

Heather and Jon got married at the Fess Parker Hotel in Santa Barbara and this was just about the smoothest wedding I had done all season. Everyone was ready on time and Heather and Jon are just the funnest most relaxed people. Their families were great, and they had the most fabulous wedding coordinators – The ladies at Red Orchid Design who referred this fabulous couple to me. Posing with Heather was hilarious because she always had the biggest smile on her face and just for fun I had to pose these portraits of her where she looks totally serious. We were laughing so hard after we took them…but they turned out great! I mean, why shouldn’t she be smiling….she was about to marry this totally hunky doctor! My poor mother would be rolling in her grave thinking “If only my daughter….”. I mean, I had to marry a musician, right? A Jewish mother’s nightmare. Anyway, the funniest part of this wedding was when Heather’s sister told a story about how Heather, when she was a toddler used to try to pee standing up like a boy. This got a huge laugh….but when Tess hangs out too much with her dad, she does the same thing! Ugh, I forgot to sharpen these images for the web. Oh well…..I’ll try again tomorrow!
