Darci and Scott at Greystone Mansion – 11.23.08

One of the cool aspects of being wedding photographer is that you get to work with people that you would never ordinarily meet in any other circumstance.  I try not to be too nosy but I do love hearing about what my clients do for a living and how they met.  Both Darci and Scott are from the Los Angeles area but now they reside in Sacramento, CA and work in politics.  Because I am a CNN and MSNBC junkie I was infatuated with them.   It was very fun hearing her bridesmaids tell stories of how they all met at a Democratic Convention years ago and their jobs working for different congress people.  Darci and Scott’s wedding was fairly small (about 50 people) and they did almost everything themselves from the table decorations to the flowers, to setting up the Hoopa.  Regardless, we still had time to do some really fun photographs.  Darci is a total photo junkie so she never got sick of me bothering her about her “must take” shots.  Greystone Mansion is just an extraordinary venue for a photographer.  The photo possibilities are endles!

Jules and Danny at the Capitol Building

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be photographing Jules and Danny’s wedding in January.   Danny is a music supervisor and Jules is publicist extraordinaire at Capitol Records….how awesome is it that Jules was able to get us access to both the Capitol Building roof and the studio!  I can’t even imagine how many songs were recorded on that piano and how many amazing artists created masterpieces in those rooms.  Unfortunately, you might have to be an artist on capitol to have your ES here too! Danny and Jules are just the most adorable couple as you can probably see in these photos.

I like this photo because it makes them look super technicolor 50’s

Lisa and Joseph – 11.22.08

My two last weddings of 2008 where on 11.22 and 11.23 and I was so blessed that they were both FABULOUS.  I have photographed at Inn of the Seventh Ray several times before and though some photographers find it challenging, I find so many cool nooks and crannies to shoot in there, I just love it.  Plus, the whole vibe of the place mellows me out.  I basically think if you choose to get married at Inn of the Seventh Ray, you must be cool.  Lisa and Joe were so much fun to work with.  I know that Lisa was nervous before her wedding, but on the day of, she was as cool as a cucumber.  Probably my favorite thing about the wedding, is that it ended at 4:00pm, and Lisa and Joe booked me for another hour after the wedding to do more romantics.  This was WELL worth it, as we got some amazing images.  It’s wonderful to have that extra time…whenever a couple does not see each other before the ceremony, we are under alot of time pressure.  This was really a gift.  Lots of samples, yay!!!

Zachary at 18 months

Zachary was born a month before Tess was and it has been so wonderful to follow Marcy and Mark (his parents) from a beautiful wedding, to pregnancy, to when Zachary was born, 7 months and now…there will be a new addition! This is the best part of my job, being able follow my client’s journeys through life and document all these joyous moments! It’s always such a pleasure to see Mark and Marcy, it’s half shooting, half gabbing is this kid just the cutest? Tess didn’t get to see him this time but I’m sure she would go nuts if she had!
