Baby Ryan!

I was honored to take photos of Sarah and Carl’s wedding back in 2005, then Sarah at 8 months pregnant and even more honored to photograph her beautiful son Ryan! Sarah really loves black and whites so I am displaying alot of them here. Also, I almost didn’t get a chance to meet Ryan as Carl (the hubby and father) was going to be deployed in Japan. Hey, I love Japan…but I am so glad they stationed him back in LA at the last minute. We had alot of fun putting Ryan in Carl’s military jacket!

Ben’s New CD…..

Ben, from Ben and Marisa – 8.31.08 is this fantastic musician/saxophone player who is about to release his first solo album on Sunnyside Records next year.  The way I hear it, it’s beautiful avant-garde jazz but with a real melodic soul to it – very much akin to the Knitting Factory stuff I used to check out when I lived in NYC.   I am so honored that he asked me to take some photos for him.  What a blast we had!  He did want to incorporate the sax in many of the photos but didn’t want to come off like Kenny G or anything! (Ha, ha…)  I just tried to go simple and lo fi.  I think we got some great stuff!  You can check out his music at www.benwendel.com/

My Little Princess – Tess

Poor Tess was so jetlagged from her long stay in NYC, that she could barely keep her eyes open through Halloween.  She didn’t want to wear her tiara (I don’t blame her) but to me, she was the most beautiful princess ever.   I think she looks quite Felliniesque!

Janice and JD – 10.11.08

I first met JD about 4 years ago as he was the best man at Aryn and Bryan’s wedding. Aryn and Bryan’s wedding was a Renaissance wedding in full regalia. JD pulled it off insanely well and I always remembered him as he was a total ham. Funny, that he didn’t even know Janice yet. I saw him again at Debra and Nate’s wedding and was thrilled to hear that he had gotten engaged to the lovely woman sitting next to him – Janice! Janice was also the maid of honor at Wendy and Lior’s wedding and it was fun to see so many of my old brides in one place! Janice and JD got married at the Mission in Solvang and had their reception at Firestone Vineyards. It was such a lovely day and I am so thrilled for these two. Plus, I got to hang out with the wedding coordinator Rebecca Stone from Duet Weddings
