The Leftovers
My good friend and old music producer (no, he is not “old”!) Linus of Hollywood was producing this band from Maine called the Leftovers who wanted some fun band photos at the beach. I was so thrilled that they asked me to do this. Sam, my new assistant came along and we had a blast over by Temescal Canyon. The poor drummer’s eyes were so sensitive to the sun, that he could barely take his sunglasses off. Oh well! These guys are super goofy, pop-punk. You can check them out at www.myspace.com/theleftovers
Ethan’s First Birthday!!!
I am so thrilled that Ethan’s father Mike asked me to do some photos of Ethan for his first birthday! As you can see, Ethan is so cute, it was almost unbearable! Poor Ethan, he had his photoshoot and then had to go right to his party – he was exhausted….it’s not easy being a model! Oh, and I know Mike from Unitek – most AWESOME Mac store in LA. It’s in Encino and you should ALL get your mac stuff there….their repairs all also super fast and reasonable!

Janice, JD and Ollie the Cat…..
I’ve known JD for a while now! I first met him as he was the best man at Brian and Aryn’s wedding – my one and only full Renaissance wedding – full costume! He was REALLLLY funny that day. My friend, Celeste, who was working for me at the time, recognized him from the Animation world. This was back in ‘05, believe it or not, before he even met Janice! I saw JD again, at Deborah and Nate’s wedding in ‘06 where he was with Janice, who ended up being the maid of honor at Wendy & Lior’s wedding (May ‘08)…and I have the pleasure of photographing their wedding in October at Firestone!
Janice and JD just bought a super cute house over in Glendale so we took some photos there and then went over to this hip little street in Montrose (sooooo have never seen, super cute). JJD (as I now call them) have a cat Ollie who just HAD to get in all the photos. It really was too funny….unfortunately, we didn’t take him to Montrose ![]()
And there is Ollie!
This hummingbird kept flying above them!
Sarah’s having a baby boy!
Sarah got married in 2005 to Carl and they had a military wedding, the only one I’ve ever photographed. It was such a pleasure getting to know Sarah while she was planning her wedding and getting to hear all of the funny stories of being a military wife – all the strange places they’ve lived, etc….. Carl will be stationed in Japan this fall, but in the meantime, he’s training on some military base and Sarah thought it best to stay in Ventura with family. I am so honored that I got to photograph this incredible time in her life. Since I was pregnant with Tess, I have such an emotional attachment to this incredible phase of a woman’s life and it’s so meaningful to me to document it. In addition, Carl hasn’t seen Sarah very much since she’s been pregnant and the photos are all the more precious knowing that he will be able to see how beautiful and glowing she looks over the internet! We started out with portraits and my house (Ugh, the best light) and drove up to El Matador Beach. I should have checked the tide chart as the tide was REALLLLLY high, but Sarah was such a sport, trekking up and down the inclines and getting wet. What a mamma!!!
This is natural light from my apartment, could you die!!!
Oh, and of course, guess who modeled for us before Sarah came over…Tess!!! (Who is fully walking, by the way!)
Rebekah and Steve – 7.12.08
Rebekah and Steve have a great love story. They met on Jdate and were engaged 6 monts later. My husband, Jimmy was VERY happy to be driving down to San Diego with me so he could take Tess to Sea World! So, as I got all my equipment together, off went Tess to Sea World, but not before charming everyone in the hotel lobby. Rebekah and Steve’s wedding took place at The Bristol Hotel which is in a very funky area of downtown San Diego. I had a lot of fun running around this barren downtown weekend landscape. It’s very late and I wish I could say more, but I as much as I liked this couple before the wedding, I liked them even more afterwards. I honestly have never heard such touching toasts made by their good friends. These two are really incredible people and are most definitely meant to be together! And most importantly
they were just too much fun to photograph!!! Steve is a total ham and Rebekah is soooooo fun!
