Sabrina and Eli’s Engagement Shoot….more fun in NYC!

Isn’t Sabrina’s hair color just incredible! This couple is just so cute it’s too much! Before every engagement shoot, I always give the couple a prep talk as to how at first it’s weird to be photographed but then they’ll get used to it….blah, blah, blah….. This couple was ready to go before I took my camera out of the bag! Sabrina grew up in Palos Verdes, CA where her wedding will take place but she met at Harvard. I photographed Lucy and Lorenzo’s wedding, also Harvard grads at the same wedding venue and now THEY also live in NYC. Isn’t that werid? Anyway, we did a bit of shooting in Central Park, some NY city streets, and went to their favorite neighborhood sushi place and wine bar. It was fun to hear all about the trials of being a new couple toughing it out in NYC, their different living situations, etc….I can’t help but remember my first apartment in NY after college – a room with no window but an air shaft. I could only fit a bed and a small dresser….but I loved it! Oh, and again, here is the obsession with the Cherry Blossom trees!

Fun in NYC! Maggie and Ari

When Ari emailed me last year and told me that he too was a Vassar grad I thought “I MUST to photograph his wedding!” He had only recently graduated and I was really worried that I asked so many questions about Vassar during our meeting that he would think I was annoying. I mean, not to date myself, but I haven’t been there in so many years that I have no idea what is going on with the school. Luckily, he still liked me and I’ll be photographing his wedding to the lovely Maggie at the Adamson House, Malibu, CA in August. It’s always fun to meet perspective clients from NYC because, since my parents still live there, I can always do their ES in NYC. It’s such a different landscape than Los Angeles and I just soak it up. Funny, however, that both of my clients their wanted photos in Central Park and I just couldn’t get enough of those Cherry Blossoms! Ugh, I was obsessed! Even Tess had to get a photo with them. I think since I moved out to Malibu I’m alot more into nature. Anyway, I had such a blast with Maggie and Ari….and the cool thing is that they were both Opera singers (now pursuing different careers) but that is how them met :-)
