Steve and Liz – 10.20.07

I was SOOOO honored to be photographing this wedding. Steve is actually a friend of my husband’s and I’ve gotten to know him and Liz over the past year. They are such wonderful people and pretty much the most mellow bride and groom I’ve had this year! When we were discussing the day’s schedule, Liz was refusing to do any photos before the wedding. Not my usually M.O. but, O.K. About a day before the wedding, to explain that she was wearing a RED dress and that Steve had NO idea and she was desperate to suprise him. The wedding took place at Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon and the logistics are a little tricky. Anyway, Liz’s dress was awesome and Steve was pretty much dumbfounded when she came down the aisle. Funny, I had done a wedding at Inn of the Seventh Ray a month before this one – in the evening. Steve and Liz’s wedding was in the morning and the lighting was completely different! Heather also did a wonderful job 2nd shooting for me and some of the photos below are hers. Steve and Liz are such and incredible couple and this was the kind of wedding which just reinforces how much I LOVE MY JOB!

Wendy and Lior’s Engagement Shoot

Wendy and Lior are friends with Debra and Nate whose wedding I photographed last August and who I love so I am so psyched to photograph anyone they refer! They wanted to do the engagement shoot on the S.M Pier and frankly, I had only shot there once before. For the photographers who read my blog – you will get a kick out of this one: Wendy is a big Knottie and she LOVES photography, so she showed up at the photo shoot with all these examples of work she had seen online that she had loved. Of course, most of the shots were from my favorite photographers in town (including YOU Next Exit!) so I had this moment of total “Oh Shit, can live up to this?!”….until on the last page was a shot of my own! It’s always nice to get a kick in the ass sometimes (sorry for all the curse words!) but I was motivated. THANKFULLY, Wendy and Lior were SOOOO easy to photograph. They were so relaxed and had such a good time it made my job easy!
